(a) Dillinger never meant to hurt anyone. He doesn't think of himself as a killer. He's bad ass, sure, but he's not a murderer. He's a product of his time. In the modern era, he would have been a venture capitalist, who drove extraordinarily expensive race cars on the weekends and dated super models. He's also bisexual, in my head. (read, not picky. he falls for people, not genders)

(b) He's slippery, but honorable in his own strange fashion. He's also loyal to a fault.
