[meme] Five Questions
Pick a character I write, and I will give you the top five ideas/concepts/other I keep in mind while writing that character that I believe are essential to depicting them accurately. This includes both original characters and characters about whom I write fanfic.

2. Earl can bond with almost anyone over food. Usually cheap roadside diner food that is so horrible for you, it approaches divine.
3. Earl is a last chance angel. He will talk to anyone, and I mean anyone if they express a genuine interest in redemption. I honestly believe he would forgive the Devil himself/herself. He really never is on break.
4. If you're Earl's charge, he is with you through to the bitter end, whichever way you go.
5. Earl loves his charges with all his heart. With every fiber of his being. And when he loses a charge, he carries the crushing sorrow of that loss with him for the rest of his days. But when he saves one? That joy also stays with him. That is his ultimate reward for the tireless service he gives.

2. Olga is not entirely in her right mind. You spend five hundred plus years transformed, frozen into a shape that is not your own, you wouldn't be either. That she still clings to her prison, her owl form, is evidence of this.
3. Olga is powerful. There is only one Other of her power born every thousand years. She terrifies Dark Others with her powers even when she is under restriction. But she's paid a very high price for that power.
4. Olga is a Light other, which is key to her character. But the definition of Light and Dark do not necessarily correspond to Good and Evil, in her universe. To serve the Light is to generally do things which people consider to be Light. But the balance is a tricky thing, and savagery and treachery is just as common among the Light as it is among the Dark.
5. Olga still believes she is fighting for the right side. Even with all her doubts about Gessar's motivation, even with all her doubts about Sveta's abilities. She still believes that the human world and the world of the Others would be better ruled by the Light, instead of being fed upon by the Dark.

2. He's a genius. Sherlock's mind never shuts down. He is always 'on'. He is always taking in information, always analysing and processing, always making connections. As such, he gets bored easily.
3. He creates vast networks of contacts. He cultivates relationships with people as sources of information. He can be extremely charming and charismatic when it suits him.
4. Sherlock is largely motivated by self-interest. He doesn't feel the need to do things out of obligation, or out of guilt. He does things because they're interesting.
5. Sherlock is very immature in his own way. The best way to see this is to observe his relationship with his brother.
