Hiked up the hill to get breakfast this morning. It's gorgeous today, which of course means it's going to rain tomorrow. We sat home yesterday afternoon, with all the doors and windows open and just let the house air out the winter funk. Some random hacking at the back garden, measurements taken for edging the beds. We need to get a tiller in to loosen up the hardpan. Carrots growing at right angles are just silly. We also knocked out Season Two of Deadwood. Damn that punches hard, even when you can see it coming a mile away. It truly is Shakespearian. I want to watch it again and take notes, try to deconstruct just precisely why it's so damned compelling. I think it's because it makes you care about each character, even the lowliest, most despicable human beings amongst them. It is a brilliant show, and I highly recommend it if you can handle adult content. (HBO - our actors have bits!)
Work is still work. Meh.
I actually got enough sleep last night for once. So why am I finding it so hard to focus. Clearly, I need something to blow the dust bunnies out from between my ears.
I tagged up a bunch of slows this morning, leftover from Mills' bartending. Veronica Mars and Mills. Tell me that isn't going to be brilliant. Ping me if I missed you. I also have an extended oom to get off the ground with Mills & Ellen Park, who are travelling to DC to do the tourist thing. (Already such love for this thread.) Indy & Fi are hanging out. I should EP for Vert or Gecko again. That'd wake my brain up. There's also a River Tam - River Song thread stuck in limbo. ~pokes it~ Maybe we should start over somewhere else. Hmm.
And of course, my perpetual favourite, (must drop everything and tag), after an exciting April Fool's morning involving pink weaponry and the amazing disappearing Damocles, Ryan is taking River to see his den. Mmm, barbeque for breakfast. Yum. That one is still under lock until it's done. There are other ooms about the whole to woof or not to woof question. We have a lot of ground to cover between now and Cubefall. And I'm loving every grumpy, self-defensive minute of it (Also, my steelcase special edition copy of Dog Soldiers shipped from Amazon this morning! \o/)
